On Tuesday 28 April 2026, the Rotondes Cultural Centre in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie announced it had invited artists Liliana Francisco and Steven Cruz from the La Concierge collective to curate the upcoming Young Art Triennial.
The Young Art Triennial will take place at Rotondes from Friday 26 June to Sunday 30 August and will feature 20 artists who have been selected to explore the themes of this 6th edition of the event, entitled Common Ground.
Since 2007, the Rotondes have been showcasing new generations of artists from Luxembourg and the Greater Region through their Young Art Triennial. The multi-function venue complex said that for this year it has chosen not to entrust the curatorship of the exhibition to established figures in the art world, but to two young curators: Liliana Francisco and Steven Cruz from the La Concierge collective under the auspice of “Who better than emerging artists to understand and convey the work of a rapidly evolving scene?”
According to Rotondes, Liliana Francisco and Steven Cruz have titled this collective exhibition Common Ground, a theme inspired by the underground nightlife scene, where social norms are set aside and individuals come together on common ground through music and art.
The strong response to the call for projects launched at the beginning of the season represents, for the Rotondes, recognition of the impact of this flagship event on artists’ professional trajectories. For La Concierge, it represented a valuable opportunity to collaborate with creators who share their vision for this Triennial.
Out of 99 submissions received, the works of twenty artists from Luxembourg and the Greater Region were selected: Tanoe Ackah, Benoît de Mijolla, Arthur Delhaye, Charlotte Dessaignes, Noé Duboutay, Mathis Esnault, Zarina Gibadulina, Léa Giordano, Roxane Kisiel, Luzie Kurth, Axel Lelait, Sarah Mandres, Pia Mougeot, Matteo Pereira, Pit Reding, Marie Schon Vilay, Ines Tabbakh Malleon, Marie Thill, Romain Vadala, Mohammed Zanboa. The visual identity of the exhibition has been entrusted to Luxembourgish visual artist Klara Troost.
Thanks to the contributions of these artists - a mix of existing works and projects created specifically for this Triennial - the Rotondes and La Concierge said they aim to offer the public an experience exploring the central themes of Common Ground, namely identity, visibility, inclusivity, self-expression and collective experience, all within a scenography designed by the Francisco/Cruz duo.
The opening will take place at the Rotondes on Friday 26 June at 18:00, in a gallery newly reopened after several months of renovation. The exhibition will continue throughout the summer, alongside the Congés Annulés festival, from Saturday 27 June to Sunday 30 August. It will be accompanied by a supporting programme (guided tours, workshops, evening events, etc.) developed by the Rotondes.
Admission is free.
The full programme will be available soon at www.rotondes.lu.
