The tenth anniversary edition of Luxembourg Art Week took place in Glacis square in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 November 2024, attracting 18,000 visitors.

The fair also brought together 77 national and international galleries.

The organisers said in a press release that the event has reaffirmed its role as "an essential platform on the European art scene while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere".

Despite the market slowdown, participating galleries recorded numerous sales, both from long-standing exhibitors and new participants. Loyal collectors confirmed their interest in "diverse and rich" artistic proposals.

"The 2024 edition stood out for the smooth flow of visitors and key moments, which allowed us to invite clients who usually leave Luxembourg over the weekend," shared Loïc Bénétière from Ceysson & Bénétière. "We are extremely satisfied with the sales, especially with new collectors. The fair has proven to be a very good meeting place and has established itself as an unmissable event for connecting with our regional collectors."

Luxembourg Art Week thanked all those involved this year, from the public to exhibitors and partners.

The organisers noted that the 77 exhibitors were spread across the Main Section and the Take Off Section. The latter is described as "a springboard for emerging galleries and artist collectives". It witnessed a renewal rate of over 50% for exhibitors this year.

In support of emerging creation, Luxembourg Art Week renewed its call to artists to imagine its catering space. This year, Delphine Dénéréaz transformed the Café Delphine into "a vibrant and luminous village square, bringing a warm atmosphere to the heart of the fair".

The Main Section showcased an "ambitious" selection, dominated by contemporary painting, while also paying tribute to key figures of modern art. Among the standout works, the organisers cited "Les fiancés au cirque" (1982) by Marc Chagall, presented by Galerie Boulakia.

Moreover, twelve Art Talks, organised in collaboration with artists, institutional and private partners, sparked discussions on a range of topics. These sessions reportedly demonstrate the team's "collaborative spirit" and "its ambition to make Luxembourg Art Week an essential event".

Luxembourg Art Week also extended beyond the fairgrounds, starting on 22 October 2024 with the Art Walk, an artistic route actively supported by the City of Luxembourg. This project, included the sculpture trail featuring works from participating galleries. It stretched along the main axis of the capital, connecting Boulevard Royal to Avenue de la Liberté.

In addition, six vacant storefronts in the city centre were transformed into temporary exhibition spaces through the Capsule project, highlighting works by eight emerging artists.
