Luxembourg street artist Christian Pearson, better known as "Sumo", has been selected to design the theme of this year's Villeroy & Boch Culinary World Cup.

"Mmmmmmh" - expressed when eating, this sound is universally understood; it means that a meal tastes particularly good. This was the inspiration for Sumo's design of the theme for the Villeroy & Boch Culinary World Cup 2022.

The decor features the face made famous in Sumo's street art in the role of a chef, who is using his fingers to make the internationally recognised sign for excellent taste. The design is featured on plates and mugs from Villeroy & Boch's "The Rock White Glacier" and "Affinity" porcelain collections.

"This opportunity to apply my art on high-quality Villeroy & Boch porcelain and bring it to the attention of a wide audience of connoisseurs is simply excellent", commented Sumo.

From 26 to 30 November 2022, EXPOGAST will be the "place to be" for all foodies; the internationally renowned Villeroy & Boch Culinary World Cup will be taking place in parallel to this gastronomy trade fair at Luxexpo The Box in Luxembourg-Kirchberg. The competition is accessible for the general public. Visitors to the trade fair will have a chance to sample the culinary creations prepared for the contest in the Restaurant des Nations for lunch or dinner, served on the competition plates from the collection "The Rock".

The Villeroy & Boch Culinary World Cup is one of the largest cookery competitions in the world. In 2022, fifteen national teams and fifteen junior national teams will take part in these two categories of the competition. A further fifteen teams will be competing for the top spot in "Community Catering".
