Culture Ministry Seeks to Acquire Artworks to Preserve Cultural Heritage

On Friday 25 July 2025, Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture launched a call for proposals concerning the acquisition of artworks.

As part of its policy of supporting artistic creation and promoting cultural heritage, the ministry announced the launch of its call for proposals for the acquisition of works of art.

Each year, the State enriches its collection by acquiring artworks to be made available to its institutions, embassies, consulates, permanent representations, administrations and public establishments under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, as well as in the context of loans to cultural institutions. This approach aims to enhance the visibility of artists' work, encourage innovation and preserve the diversity of the Luxembourg art scene.

The call is open to all artists working in the field of visual arts. It is open to Luxembourg artists, artists residing in the Grand Duchy or artists with a proven cultural connection to the Grand Duchy.

Proposals should be submitted electronically to the Ministry of Culture by 10 September 2025. Further details are available on the ministry's website.
