On Thursday 26 May 2016, ARTSCAPE will be opening its second exhibition at House 17 with works from the Erna Hecey Collection.
After a first show "People/Identities", "Portrait at Large" will enable visitors to explore the human condition as seen by contemporary artists across a wide range of expressions through ARTSCAPE's cooperation with internationally-renowned gallerist, Erna Hecey.
"Portrait at Large" is an hommage to one of the oldest artistic forms of expression, either by representing the body in an iconic or ironic way, rendering anonymous faces or by putting the model in an unusual space. The group show brings together portraiture works in a wide range of media and formats by Beat Struli (CH); Jan Van Imschoot, Johan Grimonprez, Lili Dujourie (B); Christian Aschman (LUX); Guillaume Bruère, Suzanne Lafont, Fabrice Hyber (FR); Rainer Oldendorf (D); Tom Sanford, Eleanor Antin (USA); Uri Tzaig (ISR); Little Warsaw (H); Rafal Bujnowski (PL).
Although not all of the artists have been recognised on the global art market, they have been showcased in public collections such as the Mudam, the National Library of Luxembourg, law firm Arendt & Medernach, as well as in Luxembourg private collections.
The official opening will be held at 18:00 on Thursday 26 May 2016 at House 17, Rue du Nord, 17 L-2229 Luxembourg. The exhibition will then be open from 26 May to 20 July 2016.
