Luxembourg-based improvisational theatre (improv) company Dig Deep Improv has announced the upcoming launch of its next beginners’ improv course, starting on Monday 23 February, and a comedy show on Saturday 28 February 2026.
Originally from Ireland, Melissa Dalton founded Dig Deep Improv when she moved to Luxembourg in 2021. She runs improv courses, workshops, jam nights and teambuilding events for all levels.
The five-week course for beginners will start on Monday 23 February, taking place on Mondays from 19:00 to 21:00 in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg. Tickets and further information are available at https://buytickets.at/digdeepimprov/2037048.
Melissa Dalton explained that improv is a dynamic and energising way to spark creativity, build confidence and strengthen communication skills, which can help with public speaking, acting or navigating everyday interactions with more ease and presence.
She highlighted that this course offers “a practical and enjoyable exploration into the world of Improv in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Each weekly session
will build upon the one before and will cover a different topic or skill so that by the end of the course you will feel more confident as an improviser as well as honing valuable life skills such as communication, creative thinking, teamwork and accepting failure”.
She added that improv is a team activity, and this course is a great way to meet new people and enjoy a drink or food at event venues before or after class each week.
Places are limited so early booking is advised. This course suits people with absolutely no experience as well as those with a little improv, acting or theatre background. Those unsure of which course fits them best can contact Dig Deep Improv. Students must be over sixteen years of age.
An improv comedy show will take place on Saturday 28 February at 18:00 at Carlitos Comedy Club in Luxembourg-Gare. Tickets are available online at https://www.carlitoscomedy.club/event-details-registration/theatre-sports-improv-comedy-show.
TheatreSports™ will bring competitive improv to the stage through scene challenges, team spirit and live audience scoring. Keith Johnstone created the format in the 1970s and theatres around the world later adopted it. The concept will arrive in Luxembourg City for a one-night collaboration, as Grand Stretch will join Dig Deep Improv for an evening of unscripted theatre.
Darren Yorke from Grand Stretch will lead the evening. As Ireland’s leading member of the International TheatreSports™ Institute, he is described as bringing extensive experience and a sharp sense of play to the stage. Together with Dig Deep Improv’s performers, he will guide two teams through a series of scene challenges, games and theatrical twists.
