The New World Theatre Club has announced that its vibrant youth group's exciting variety showcase production "A Modern Take on Five Fantastic Tales - stories from around the world" will be performed on Saturday 12 March 2016 at the Centre Altrimenti, Centre Convict (5 avenue Marie-Thérèse, L–2132 Luxembourg).

There will be two performances of the same production, at 11:00 and at 15:30. Entrance fee: donations for NWTC's forthcoming refugee project. No reservations necessary.

This year's NWTC youth theatre has been busy learning theatre skills from acting (physicality and movement) and use of media (selection and use of sound, projection and light) through to taking responsibility for ensemble work (each group has had to organise itself and decide how best to tell their story). They now invite NWTC members and the public to see their interpretation of "Five fantastic tales":

Soaked in Seaweed (Canada)
A ship's crew and its passenger have shipwrecked on an uncharted island. Here they discover human weaknesses and strengths in the midst of the tragedy.

The Secret Garden (North America)
A magical discovery of life through a friendship and exploration of a special garden.

The Origin of Water (Australia)
A dream time story about the origin of water before the existence of humans.

The two Brothers (South Africa)
Two brothers who grew up together, hunting in the solitary fields of South
Africa, until one day… when one of them betrayed the other…

Jack and the Beanstalk (England)
A poor boy and his mother, hopeless and abandoned, discover a new world thanks to some magic beans which will transform their lives.
