The New World Theatre Company (NWTC) has announced a Call for Auditions concerning the upcoming production of The Good Doctor by Neil Simon and Anton Chekhov on 13-16 March 2025, and of Escurial by Michel de Ghelderode in May and June 2025.

Talented actors are being sought for both productions with multiple roles available for both men and women aged over eighteen years.

The Good Doctor, a comedy inspired by Chekhov's short stories, is a collaboration between NWTC and MITOS (a non-profit cultural organisation that develops and promotes cultural relations between Greece and the Grand Duchy).

Auditions for The Good Doctor will take place in Chapelle Loretto (Salle Polyvalente, 6 Rue des Romains, L-2443 Senningerberg, Niederanven) on Sunday 20 October and Monday 21 October 2024 from 18:30-21:00.

The auditions will be workshop-style, focusing on ensemble work, improvisation and text exploration; rehearsals will primarily take place on weekends, Mondays and Wednesdays with occasional additional days based on cast schedules.

As The Good Doctor is a non-profit production, all roles will be unpaid.

NWTC also announced its workshop-style audition date for its 2025 Spring/FEATS production of Escurial by Michel de Ghelderode, directed by John Brigg. Performances will take place in May 2025 in Luxembourg and at the FEATS festival in Hamburg in June 2025.

This short but intense play is made up of two principal male actors (age 30-55) and an ensemble of 4-5 further actors of any gender (age over sixteen years), who will be on stage throughout as dogs, Death and palace servants, among others.

A workshop-style audition for Escurial will be held on Saturday 23 November 2024 from 14:00-17:00 in the Centre Culturel Grund (11 Bisserwee, Luxembourg-Grund) with a view to starting rehearsals in January or February 2025.
