EDF, the operator of the Cattenom nuclear power plant in France, has reported that Reactor 1 was reconnected to the electricity network on Thursday 26 October 2023.

On Thursday evening, the teams at the power plant reconnected Reactor 1 to the electrical grid and confirmed it is in operation again and supplying the electricity network.

Reactor 1 had been shut down on Saturday 30 September 2023 to allow the team to carry out carry out checks and repairs on electrical boxes located outside the nuclear zone.

EDF confirmed that Reactors 2 and 4 are in operation and supply the electricity network. Reactor 3 is still on a scheduled shutdown for annual maintenance since 7 October 2023.
