The Luxembourg American Cultural Society & Center (LACS) in Wisconsin, USA, will feature on stamps commissioned by POST Luxembourg, to take part in the world stamp exhibition in New York 2016 from 27 May to 5 June 2016.
Sara Jacoby, LACS Chief Operations Officer and Event Manager, said "This is a very important event in the philatelic world and we are thrilled to be a part of this". She went on to explain "the artwork for this special stamp was to show something which connected the historic links between Luxembourg and the United States. POST Luxembourg wanted to honour, by the way of this stamp and the LACS, the thousands of Luxembourgers who left their home country and helped build the US. We felt there was nothing more fitting than the picture of the Mamer-Hansen stone barn to fully encapsulate the LACS."
