The China-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (ChinaLux) is organising a Michelin Star Evening at Bourglinster Castle on Friday 25 October 2019 from 19:00 to 21:00.

On this occasion, Michelin-starred Belgian chefs René Mathieu and Mario Willems will share stories from their recent experience working together with the chefs at the St. Regis in Zhuhai. They will then present one dish, after which guests will be treated to five or six small dishes complimented with crémant, wine and other beverages.

René Mathieu is a Belgian chef and author of a cookbook "Végétal". He worked as a chef at "Le Capucin Gourmand" in Belgium (1 Michelin Star) from 1986 to 2002 before serving as the Executive Chef of Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg from 2002 to 2005. Since 2005, René Mathieu has served as the Executive Chef of the Restaurants of Bourglinster Castle (1 Michelin Star; 18/20 Gault&Milau). He has received several awards, most recently "3rd place of World's Best Vegetable Restaurant" in 2019 and the "Award Culinary Innovator" by Gault&Milau in 2018.

For his part, Mario Willems became an entrepreneur after 20 years in the business world. The Belgian native is a lifetime passionate chef who created in 2018, together with René Mathieu, the company My Roots in Luxembourg. It is a consulting company in the food sector, highly focused on botanical ingredients, dedicated to improving the quality of life and contributing to a healthier future.
