Luxembourg will host the first private Luxembourg - Iran Business Forum on Wednesday 15 November 2017.
Luxembourgish and European investors will welcome Iranian business leaders from various industry sectors. The Business Forum is a private event and is destined only for invited business leaders.
In October 2016, Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Economy, Étienne Schneider was on an economic mission to Iran, where her attended a seminar entitled “Iran-Luxembourg: Partners in a changing world” in Tehran. The economic delegation, made up of representatives from around 40 Luxembourg businesses had the chance to network with over 120 Iranian businessmen and women at the seminar, which was organised by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with local partners. One of the issues addressed was availing of the Grand Duchy as a point of entry to the European Single Market.
During that visit, Minister Schneider met with Mahmoud Vaezi, the Iranian Minister of Information Technology and Communication, to discuss a future collaboration in the ICT sector, and more specifically in the domain of cybersecurity. He also met with the Iranian Deputy Minister for Industry, Mining and Business, Mujtaba Khosrowtaj.
