Details: The Dublin Legends, formerly The Dubliners, will perform a concert in Luxembourg on Thursday 8 October 2015 at 20:00 at the Syrkus in Roodt-sur-Syre.
Organised by the municipality of Betzdorf, the concert will feature the remaining members of the immortal band, The Dubliners. In 2012, John Sheahan, head of The Dubliners, announced that the most legendary of all Irish folk bands would perform no more. But some other members of the band thought differently and together with veterans Seán Cannon and Eamonn Campbell, have to make decided on. The rights to the name The Dubliners remained with John Sheahan and "new" Irish-folk band started to perform under the name THE DUBLIN LEGENDS. In January they brought out their new CD "Live in Vienna".
The name may have perished, but the legend remains!
THE DUBLIN LEGENDS consists of Seán Cannon, Eamonn Campbell, Gerry O'Connor and Paul Watchorn. As icons of Irish folk music, they perform the best-known songs about wine, women, love and life. The artists understand, thanks to the enthusiasm of audiences who generate a unique atmosphere, that makes one forget completely the venue in which they are performing - that's the "Irish Pub" at its best, the beating heart of Irish towns and villages.
The concert will fesature a full-length programme with a mix of old and new songs such as "The Wild Rover", "Dirty Old Town", "Whiskey in the Jar", "The Irish Rover", etc.
