Details: The Institute for Global Financial Integrity (TIGFI) has announced details of its 41st Finance Lunch with Urs Hammer, Ambassador of Switzerland to the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, on 28 April 2015 which is being held at the Cercle Munster in Luxembourg-Grund from 11:30.

Urs Hammer, Ambassador of Switzerland to the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, will speak on Challenges for the Swiss financial sector   – the gap between perception and reality.

About the speaker: Since 2012 Mr. Hammer has been Ambassador of Switzerland to the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg having started his diplomatic career within the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1992. He started off with the Federal Office of Foreign Economic Affairs in Bern and Swiss OECD delegation. From 1994 he worked for 4 years at the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. In 1998 Mr. Hammer was appointed First Secretary and Counsellor at the Swiss Embassy in Rome. After 3 years he worked as a Counsellor at the Swiss Mission to the EU in Brussels. In 2005 Mr. Hammer became Deputy Head of the Political Division Americas. From 2008 to 2012 he served as a Deputy Chief of Mission at the Swiss Embassy in Berlin before becoming Swiss Ambassador to the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg in September 2012. Urs Hammer holds a Master`s degree in History, American and English Literature. In 1995 he published his doctoral thesis on “The Myth of Switzerland as ‘Alpine Sister Republic’ in 19th Century American Thought”. Mr. Hammer is married and has two sons.
