Details: The novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, originally self-published on the Internet, quickly achieved a worldwide success after its publication in book form.
In 18 months, more than 40 million copies of Volume 1 of the book "Fifty Shades of Grey" were sold and for 37 weeks it ranked first in best seller published by the New York Times. The trilogy has finally sold worldwide over 100 million copies.
It was so successful that in 2012, the year of publication in print, it was the most offered book at Christmas. Its opponents call the novel, soft porn or an uninteresting pastiche of Emmanuelle, Barbara Cartland and Twillight. But its fans see the trilogy a true story of love, a little naive, yet convincing.
Many fans are awaiting the film's release on 11 February 2015. It should be noted that the film adaptation of the erotic romance was directed by Sam Taylor - Johnson, the director of the famous film "Nowhere Boy", which retraces part of the life of John Lennon.
The trailer has received 1.2 million "likes", was shared and commented on Facebook, in the first 24 hours since it went online, more than any other trailer in the past twelve months" (Variety).
