Details: The 7th Luxinnovation "Business meets Research" Forum will be held on 18-19 June in Luxexpo and will address the theme "Manufacturing of the future."

Lectures and interactive workshops will be combined with bilateral meetings under "Innovation Matchmaking". This year, the event "Business Meets Research" offers a new dynamic concept: meetings, conferences and interactive workshops nestled in the heart of the "GR Business Days" exhibition. Stakeholders from Luxembourg and the Greater Region will present the latest trends, technologies and research results in the field of manufacturing.

Now faced with increasingly fierce international competition, Luxembourg companies must optimise their processes by developing new manufacturing technologies. Markets are also increasingly complex and competition is increasingly intense. That is why technological innovation is considered as a key factor in the competitiveness of Luxembourg companies. However, this implies that they must be open to partnerships with research centeres and research laboratories. The "Business meets Research" Forum addresses this problem by providing a user-friendly platform for meetings and exchanges. Based on the needs expressed by local industry, the main theme of "Business meets Research" 2014 is "Manufacturing of the Future." Participants will then discuss techniques and processes to adapt to industry 4.0 and to produce more sustainable from an environmental point of view.

Researchers and experts from Luxembourg and the Greater Region will present the latest trends, technologies and research results at workshops and conferences:

• Additive Manufacturing - 18 June, 11:30 to 18:00

• Robotization of small lot size Production - 19 June, 12:00 to 13:30

• Environmental sustainability of manufacturing - 19 June, 14:30 to 16:00

• Nano-Composites and Their Applications - 19 June, 16:30 to 18:00

In addition to the workshops, "Business meets Research" participants will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition of GR Business Days and increase their potential professional contacts.

The University of Manchester is the largest in the United Kingdom located on a single site. Dr Rich Ferrie, director of operations at "University of Manchester Intellectual Property" (UMIP) present, in his speech on 19 June, will present how Manchester has developed a unique infrastructure and systematic process that led to the creation of 15 new businesses and 340 agreement technology licenses since 2004.
