Details: Actors Repertory Theatre Luxembourg will be presenting a production of the play Love Letters, by A R Gurney, at the Art Café on 31 January and 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 12 and 13 February.

All performances begin at 20.00.

Presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd., the show features Timothy Lone and Louisa Graf as Andy and Melissa, two characters who meet as children and whose lives and love are chronicled over fifty years of their relationship through the letters they write to one another.

Erik Abbott, Actors Rep Founder and Artistic Director, said "Love Letters is a sweet, funny, moving play about the joys and challenges of love. It is an ideal pre-Valentine’s Day gift for our audience. The cozy atmosphere and theatrical décor of the Art Café make it the perfect space for this charming mid-winter pick-me-up." Timothy Lone, Founder and Producing Director, calls the play ‘a modern classic of love through the ages.’

A. R. Gurney has written nearly fifty plays, including ‘The Dining Room’, ‘The Cocktail Hour’ and ‘Love Letters’. A witty chronicler of the Northeastern U. S. society in which he grew up, Gurney was awarded the 2007 PEN/Laura Pels Award as a ‘Grand Master’ American playwright and originated the role of Andy in the first performance of ‘Love Letters’ at the New York Public Library in 1989. The play has since been translated into numerous languages and performed all over the world, and was a finalist for the 1990 Pulitzer Prize in Drama.
