Following KPMG Luxembourg's move to their new offices in Kirchberg - nicknamed the Apple Strudle building - earlier in the summer, the company organised a KPMG Plage and has now confirmed that it will hold a similar event next year; this year's public Open Days attracted 1,000+ people.
In June they organised a fortnight of sand, sun and fun outside their 39 JFK headquarters, to open the summer in style and enjoy the season with its people, clients and local community. In addition to over 150 tons of sand and palm trees in front of its building, KPMG decked out its headquarters in very simple and retro style. As well as parasols, beach huts and deckchairs, beachgoers were greeted with a wide variety of refreshment options, including BBQ, drinks and ice-cream. Sports lovers were also catered for in the firm’s plans with beach volleyball and beach tennis equipment, a dedicated pétanque terrain and other facilities too.
Throughout the summer the beach spirit will continue as KPMG Luxembourg's mascots (El Bully and Slonik) will travel around the world for a good cause – all funds will be raised for the charity "Iles aux Clowns". El Bully and Slonik are two famous inflatable retro toys - red buvol (buffalo, born in 1971) and blue slon (elephant, born in 1972) - are part of the artistic heritage of Libuše Niklová, star designer at the inimitable Czech toy producer Fatra.
