With the advent of the summer holidays, when many Luxembourg residents will be leaving the country for holiday destinations, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure today appealed to the public to respect the Highway Code regulations when using a car or motorcycle abroad.
Starting this year, various European countries began to exchange information in order to identify and prosecute drivers who violated traffic rules in a different country to their own. This means that should a motorist be flashed by a radar, foregin authorities will be informed of the offense, penalty and, where appropriate, judicial procedure. In the case of non-payment of the fine, the case will be forwarded to the Luxembourg prosecutor.
