The 2024 Schueberfouer will once again be held at the Glacis car park in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg from Friday 23 August to Wednesday 11 September 2024.

The event details were revealed at a press conference on Monday 19 August 2024 by Alderman Patrick Goldschmidt and Laurent Schwaller, who is in charge of the Department of Public Spaces, Festivals and Markets (Service Espace publics, fêtes et marchés - EFM) of the City of Luxembourg. The

This year marks the Schueberfouer’s 684th edition, the organisers noted. Schueberfouer was established around 1340 by John the Blind, and is the largest funfair in the Greater Region; it covers 4.44 hectares, drawing over one million visitors each year. In 2017, the Schueberfouer surface development was completely revised. This development has proven itself efficient in recent years and will be largely maintained. The site is accessible via eight separate entrances/exits, seven of which are available to guests.

The 20-day event will be formally opened on Wednesday 23 August at 17:00 by the Mayor of Luxembourg City, Lydie Polfer, with opening times thereafter from 12:00 to 01:00 daily (catering establishments may open from 11:00 daily).

A total of 216 establishments will participate this year, of which 41.7% are by Luxembourgish operators, 24.1% by French, 23.6% by German, 8.8% by Belgian and 1.8% by Dutch. There are seventeen rides (nine on the ground, eight off the ground), three on rails, 20 for children, five other attractions (ghost train, cinema, etc.), one bumper cars attraction, twelve restaurants, 53 food stands (37 savoury, sixteen sweet), fourteen confectionery stands, seven gaming zones, sixteen shooting ranges, 21 games and 47 street vendors.

New rides for 2024 are: Jim & Jasper’s Wildwasser (largest transportable water ride), 1001 Nacht (flying carpet), Mr Gravity (a new rollercoaster), Jetlag, Top Scan, slide on rail, Starlight, Spuk and Venetian Carousel. Moreover, four new dining options will be available, namely Wrap Factory (offering several vegan and vegetarian options), Mini Donuts Factory, Crêpes & More and Magic Crêpes.

In addition, a number of attractions are returning after one or several years' absence: Infinity, Laser Pixx, Jules Verne Tower, Booster Maxxx, Circus Circus, Wild Mouse, Poffertjes Mühle.

The organisers confirmed that despite rising costs this year, most rides and games will remain priced between €3 and €9, with the higher end of the range (€9) being rare and reserved for the most thrilling, adrenaline-inducing rides. The majority of rides are set at €5-6.

A new initiative this year allows for the advance registration of children (individually or in groups, such as classes) with the Grand Ducal Police on-site. Caretakers can then receive a sticker with the child’s details in case they get lost. Once registered, the details will be valid for the entire duration of this year’s Schueberfouer.

Note that during the Schueberfouer period, the tram will operate with an extended timetable and at a reinforced frequency (every five to ten minutes).
