The Grand Ducal Police have announced that, as in previous years, police officers will play an active role at the 685th Schueberfouer, which takes place from Friday 22 August to Wednesday 10 September 2025.
The police have stated that to ensure everyone’s safety, they will once again set up a dedicated station between the main entrance of the fair and the Grand Théâtre (near the tram tracks). The station will open daily from 14:00 until 01:00.
In addition to the station, officers will patrol regularly inside the fairgrounds and in nearby areas, including the municipal park. Local police will also patrol in and around the fair to maintain safety, public order and cleanliness. Special police units (SRPS) will check funfair traders’ permits and, together with other authorities, monitor technical and health-related matters.
Lost children service – Free preventive support from the Police
The police have noted that after the positive feedback from previous years, they will once again offer their “Lost Children” service. Parents, nurseries, schools and other organisations bringing children to the fair can register them in advance by filling in an online form on MyGuichet.lu at Inscription au service "Enfants perdus" à la fouer.
Once at the Schueberfouer, parents can go to the police station on-site to collect a sticker that carries an individual identification code and the station’s phone number.
This system helps officers quickly identify a lost child and reunite them with their guardian. It also allows anyone who finds a lost child to contact the fairground police directly by using the number shown on the sticker.
Parking and traffic
Traffic police will also manage traffic in the Limpertsberg area throughout the fair. They will pay special attention to traffic flow both in Limpertsberg and around the fairground.
Officers will tow away cars that block garages, bus stops or delivery areas, occupy spaces reserved for disabled people or taxis, or cause an obstruction or danger.
To avoid traffic disruption, the police encourage visitors to use public transport or Park & Ride facilities.
Daily police presence
Police officers will maintain a strong presence each day, with dog handlers will frequently join the teams. Under the Prüm Treaty, officers from Germany, Belgium and France will occasionally patrol together with their Luxembourg colleagues.
To prevent vehicles from driving directly onto the Glacis site, the authorities will place physical barriers on the main access routes to the fairground.
As at any large-scale event, the police urge visitors to stay alert, watch out for pickpockets and report any suspicious objects or people immediately.
Extended opening hours
During the duration of the fair, the Limpertsberg police station will extend its public opening hours. Officers will assist local residents from Monday to Friday between 11:00 and 14:00. The Luxembourg city police station will operate as usual.
