The Upper Sûre Nature Park and the Éislek (Oesling) Regional Tourist Office have announced the introduction of an online reservation system for visitors wishing to visit the Upper Sûre Lake beaches this bathing season.

Like last year, visitors to the lake's beaches must make a reservation in advance. This can be done free of charge via the website www.visit-eislek.lu or the Éislek mobile application. A maximum of five places can be reserved per person. While in 2020 visitors were only required to book on weekends and holidays, reservations are now also required on weekdays.

This reservation system, accompanied by the use of security personnel, is aimed at guaranteeing compliance with the health measures in place. Funding for the system and costs associated with on-site verification will be borne by the Luxembourg government, whilst the Upper Sûre Nature Park and the Éislek Regional Tourist Office will carry out the administrative work.

The reservation system will remain in place until the end of the bathing season. People who have already made a reservation and can no longer make it to the beach must cancel their reservation by sending an email to info@visit-eislek.lu.

Activities where visitors do not sit on the beach are excluded from reservations. For example, visitors do not need to make a reservation if they want to hike along the lake or go kayaking or fishing on the reservoir.

The hygiene measures in force also apply during a visit to the lake's beaches: visitors must maintain a distance of at least two metres from other visitors and mask wearing is compulsory when more than four people come together (unless they are part of the same household). Children under 6 as well as people with a disability or illness (with a medical certificate) are exempt from these measures.
