On Sunday 23 October 2022, former Women's Tennis Association (WTA) No 1 and 2nd seed Kim Clijsters won the first Luxembourg Ladies Tennis Masters.
Kim Clijsters of Belgium defeated top seed Martina Hingis of Swizerland by 7-5, 6-2 at the tennis court in d'Coque in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
Earlier on Saturday, Kim Clijsters defeated Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland by 6-4, 6-7(5), 10-7 in the first semifinals and Martina Hingis defeated Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova by 7-6(2), 6-2 in the second semifinals match.
The first Luxembourg Ladies Tennis Masters is an invitational tournament with €100,000 as the total prize, broken down: €5,000 for the quarter-finals, €10,000 for the semi-finals, €20,000 for the finalist and €40,000 for the champion, was played from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 October 2022.
His Royal Highness the Grand Duke, Luxembourg's Prime Minister and Minister of State, Xavier Bettel, the Mayor of Luxembourg City, Lydie Polfer, amongst others, were present during the finals match and award ceremony.
