On Friday 7 November 2025, the Luxembourg Tennis Federation (Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Tennis - FLT) held a press conference ahead of this year's FLT Masters by Cardif Lux Vie.
The FLT Masters by Cardif Lux Vie brings together the best players of the season at the end of the year. The tenth edition of the tournament is taking place at the Centre National de Tennis (CNT) in Esch-sur-Alzette from Saturday 8 to Sunday 16 November 2025.
The draw for this year's tournament was made on Friday evening.
Speaking to Chronicle.lu at the press conference, FLT President Claude Lamberty said: "For the Luxembourg Tennis Federation, it's always a pleasure to have at the end of the season this FLT Masters. It's the best [local] players of the year playing for the last title of the year. So, it's a very special tournament with very special players coming from Luxembourg... They are the best of the best".
He noted how the FLT Masters by Cardif Lux Vie has become "the" tournament of the year. "We're very proud of it," he said. "We realised that the players want to play this tournament." He added that professional tennis player Alex Knaff is participating this year, which is "very nice". Over the last decade, many "good Luxembourgish players" have won the trophy.
For the tenth anniversary, the tournament is unveiling a new logo and providing players with "better conditions", including physiotherapy, a pasta bar and a players' lounge. "We try to upgrade the tournament, a little bit like a professional tournament, because we want the players to give their best and we want the tournament to be the best of the year," noted Claude Lamberty.
"For us, it's really an honour to have these players playing the FLT Masters," he said, adding that partners were "very important". Cardif Lux Vie has been the tournament's partner since the first edition; he called the organisation "a very special partner" over the past decade and concluded: "We hope that we will have a good tennis week."
Juan José Rodríguez García, Chief Sales & Business Development Officer at Cardif Lux Vie, also commented on this "symbolic" ten-year partnership. "We have been building a long-term relationship, collaborating together and supporting a sport that shares values with the group of BNP Paribas," he said, noting that the group (which includes Cardif Lux Vie) has been "supporting worldwide tennis, mainly through Roland Garros, since 1973". At the local level, Cardif Lux Vie continues to support the sport in Luxembourg. He highlighted shared values such as respect and engagement, as well as contributing to inclusion and sustainability. "We are proud to be part of it," he concluded.
