On Tuesday 19 May 2026, the Luxembourg Tennis Federation (Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Tennis - FLT) announced the selection of players and coaching staff for the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup, with former Davis Cup player Gilles Kremer joining the Luxembourg team as new coach alongside captain Claudine Schaul.

The Luxembourg women’s team will compete in Europe Group III of the Billie Jean King Cup from Monday 15 to Saturday 20 June 2026 at the Cassa di Risparmio Tennis Center – Fonte dell’Ovo in San Marino, with thirteen teams participating in the tournament, including Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Ireland, Iceland, Kosovo, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro and San Marino.

Gilles Kremer succeeds national coach Frédéric Baade, who will continue focusing on the development of Luxembourg’s young tennis prospects.

For the competition, Claudine Schaul has pre-selected Marie Weckerle (WTA ranking 585), Leila Fabbri, Eléonora Molinaro and Onalee Wagner to represent Luxembourg.

According to FLT, the thirteen participating teams will be divided into four groups of three or four teams. Group matches will take place from Wednesday 17 to Friday 19 June 2026, followed by the semi-finals on Saturday, contested by the group winners. The two semi-final winners will be promoted to the higher division in 2027.

At the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup Europe Group III tournament, Luxembourg finished in fourth place.
