Luxembourg Short Track Racers Succeed in World Junior Championships

Between 27 and 29 January 2017, three skaters from the Union Luxembourgeoise de Patinage de Vitesse (ULPV) participated in the ISU World Junior Short Track Championships in Innsbruck, Austria.

ULPV’s Caroline Murphy, Augustin Géré and Peter Murphy joined 96 men and 62 women competing for the title last week.

Caroline came in 50^th place overall in the ladies’ competition, whilst Augustin and Peter came 56^th and 85^th overall in the men’s competition respectively.

Moreover, on Sunday 22 January, Elisa Aulamo, Julie Kiesgen and Jimmy Kiesgen were skating in the Benelux Cup 3 in Tilburg, Netherlands. Elisa came 16^th with a personal best in the 333m with 48.38 and in the 500m with 1:12.92. Julie came in 11^th place with a personal best of 1:12.92 in the 500m. Finally, Jimmy came 15^th with a personal best of 2:05.37 in the 1000m.

Upcoming competitions include the European Youth Olympic Festivals in Erzurum, Turkey from 11 to 18 February 2017, StarClass 6 SAB in Torino from 17 to 19 February 2017, Munich Open from 4 to 5 March, the Luxembourg Championships on 19 March, and the Benelux Cup Finals Nijmegen, Netherlands on 26 March.
