The association Amis du château de Mansfeld have created a film showing the virtual reconstruction of the Château de Mansfeld; the film will be presented on 25 September 2018 at the National Archives (ANLux) at 18:00.

Count Pierre-Ernest Mansfeld (1517-1604), governor of the Duchy of Luxembourg, built  a castle in Clausen that was one of the most important princely residences of the Renaissance in the current Benelux. Today, the castle, called "La Fontaine", is completely in ruins.

This 11-minute film represents a hypothesis of the virtual reconstruction of the castle, developed using today's resources. Created from long-term archival and archaeological research, the film will be presented in its current version at the ANLux next Tuesday, in the presence of the Secretary of State for Culture Guy Arendt. On this occasion, the presdent of Amis du château de Mansfeld, Jean-Luc Mousset, will also present the motivations behind the creation of the film and the research work necessary for its creation.

The film will then be screened at ANLux from 26 September to 5 October 2018.
