
The first "Three-Borders" shopping centre of the Luxembourg Moselle is set to its doors to the public tomorrow, Thursday 7 September 2017; its name "Borders" highlights this specific geographical location, at the crossroads of Luxembourg, France and Germany.
Ideally located opposite the exit of the A13 motorway, between Remerschen and Schengen, the site has already attracted many well-known brands and is expected to create around 100 jobs.
More than 200 guests, including numerous political, economic and financial figures, participated on Wednesday evening for the inauguration of the new Borders shopping centre. Among them were Nicolas Schmit, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fernand Etgen, Minister for Agriculture, Viticulture and Consumer Protection, Octavie Modert (for Minister and former Mayor of Mondorf) and Léon Gloden, as well as Ben Homan, Mayor of the municipality of Schengen.
Mr Tanguy t'Serstevens, Country Manager Delhaize Luxembourg, with Eric Lux and Gilles Bindels, representing the co-developers of the project (Ikogest and Luxembourg Capital), invited these distinguished guests to cut the symbolic ribbon to inaugurate the premises - aAn act that the Mayor of Schengen will repeat tomorrow, Thursday 7 September at 09:30, to officially mark the opening to the public.
In addition to the Delhaize supermarket as anchor tenant, the Borders shopping centre places great emphasis on diversity and quality of supply.
Acuitis, the leading Italian ready-to-wear brand Benetton, the hairdresser Beim Figaro, the new florist Florathéik, a newsagent K-Kiosk, perfumery Milady, as well as a travel agency Emile Weber. The kiosk Elch Drénken and the bakery Paul offer a refreshing and refreshing pause for visitors. A BIL ATM can be accessed from the car park (Florathéik will open its doors on Monday 11 September; the Benetton, Elch Drénken and Paul stores will finalise their works and will soon be ready to welcome their first customers).
Delhaize Supermarket is open from Monday to Saturday between 07:30 and 20:00 (until 21:00on Fridays) and Sundays from 07:30 to 13:00 to offer its customers the best possible service. The shops of the gallery are open from Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 to 19:00. Borders has a 200-place car-park.
The Borders shopping centre is a co-development between Ikogest, which is also known to develop the Opkorn shopping centre to open at the end of October in Differdange, and Luxembourg Capital, also known for its Southlane towers in Belval. Borders represents a total investment of approximately €30 million. It is expected to generate 120 jobs, including 50 at Delhaize.
To celebrate its opening, the Borders shopping centre is offering a programme of activities for all ages including face painting, a bouncy castle, food trucks and a big competition.
