On Thursday 20 November 2025, Luxembourg’s Cactus Group announced the installation of nine new electric charging stations at the Belle Etoile shopping centre as part of its nationwide rollout of smart charging infrastructure in partnership with TotalEnergies.
The group reported that the Belle Etoile site now offers eighteen charging points, including both AC (22 kW) and high-power (400 kW) units, forming part of a wider expansion aimed at improving access to electric mobility across Luxembourg.
The Cactus network now includes 31 double smart charging stations (62 charging points) across thirteen supermarkets throughout the country. Twenty-eight double AC (22 kW) stations are located at sites including Bascharage, Bettembourg, Mersch, Redange, Remich, Windhof, Echternach, Bereldange, Diekirch, Ingeldorf, Kayl, Roodt/Syre and Belle Etoile, offering convenient charging during shopping or lunch breaks.
Belle Etoile also hosts three double high-power HPC (400 kW) stations, providing ultra-fast charging suitable for long-distance travel.
The charging stations installed by TotalEnergies on Cactus car parks are accessible 24/7 at sites such as Belle Etoile, and during store opening hours at locations with gated access. According to the group, the stations offer flexible and user-friendly payment options, including the TotalEnergies Charge+ Business card, other compatible charging cards, QR code payment via smartphone and direct bank card payment at HPC units.
“By integrating charging stations on our sites, we want to offer our customers a smoother and more convenient daily experience. Being able to charge their car while shopping, having a meal or taking a coffee break is a concrete way of making their lives easier while supporting more sustainable mobility. This partnership with TotalEnergies aligns fully with our aim of combining comfort, innovation and environmental responsibility,” explained Véronique Schmitt, Marketing, Communications and CSR Director at Cactus.
“With this partnership, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting the energy transition and making access to simple and rapid charging solutions easier, for smoother and more sustainable mobility. This major project allows us to meet the expectations and needs of Cactus customers and to contribute actively to the electrification of Luxembourg’s vehicle fleet,” added Anthony Siperius of TotalEnergies Luxembourg.
