The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a man was arrested following a domestic violence incident in Esch-sur-Alzette on the evening of Saturday 1 August 2026.

According to the police, officers responded to the incident at around 22:45. The man was already subject to a restraining order prohibiting contact with his partner.

Police said the man refused to comply with officers' instructions and remained highly uncooperative. He ultimately had to be restrained using police control techniques and handcuffed. During his transfer to the police station and throughout the subsequent police procedures, he remained aggressive and slightly injured two police officers.

On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the man was issued with an expulsion order and arrested. He was due to appear before an investigating judge on Sunday 2 August 2026.

Police also filed reports in connection with rebellion and making death threats.
