French sporting goods retailer Decathlon has announced that it will open its first store in Luxembourg, at Royal-Hamilius in Luxembourg City, on 3 February 2021.

With a surface area of 630m² spread over two floors, the “Royal-Hamilius Decathlon” store is based on the concept of a boutique rather than a peripheral department store. The focus will be on sports selected to meet the demand of athletes in Luxembourg's city centre, such as running, swimming, tennis and fitness (gym).

That being said, customers will have access to the full Decathlon offer at the end of the month on the new website www.decathlon.lu

The new Luxembourg store employs eight people and will offer services such as bicycle repairs and snowshoe stringing upon opening.

Karine Blanc, Director of Decathlon Luxembourg, commented: “Thanks to direct contact with our Luxembourg sports customers, we will develop our product and service offering to meet their needs. We are especially looking forward to sharing sporting moments with them”.
