On Wednesday 2 December 2020, Total Luxembourg and Cactus shoppi signed an agreement to open 6 new convenience stores in the coming months: this partnership will allow the Cactus group to continue expanding its network of Cactus shoppi convenience stores while relying on a trusted partnership that has linked the two parties for many years.

In 2008, the first Cactus shoppi convenience store located within a Total station, opened in Windhof under the management of Fons Johanns. This was the starting point of a successful story, as evidenced by the openings of Cactus shoppi Total Marnach, managed by local entrepreneur Marc Reiff, Cactus shoppi Contern, under the management of the Schwertzer family and Cactus shoppi Livange, managed by Luc Sinner, among others. As a result of the excellent commercial relations between the two groups, 8 Cactus shoppi have been created since the start of the partnership.

These 6 new Cactus shoppi convenience stores are scheduled to open between spring 2021 and spring 2022.

"We are happy to be able to continue this adventure with trusted partners" stated Patrick Schnell, Managing Director of Total Luxembourg, and Jean-Paul Leesch, Cactus shoppi Sales Director.

With this agreement, the number of franchised Cactus shoppi points of sale will increase within a few months from 33 to 39 sites spread over the whole of Luxembourg and the Cactus group's distribution network from 61 to 67 points of sale. The Cactus group thus will have 6 new showcases from where to highlight its quality assortment in quick access, for example with the brands of Schnékert Traiteur, Alnatura and Pains & Tradition, and Total will be able to benefit from the experiences of a major player in Luxembourgish trade to guarantee a varied and qualitative choice of products within its stations.

The details of the sites of the new Cactus shoppi convenience stores and the schedule will be announced during 2021.
