Vide grenier;

Shops in Luxembourg City will be exceptionally open this Sunday 5 May 2019.

This Sunday, the shops in the upper city area and Gare district of Luxembourg City will be open. In addition, as this will be the first Sunday of the month, the capital will host a "vide grenier" (second-hand sale).

On this occasion, public transport on the territory of Luxembourg City will be free of charge, including bus lines 1-33, the tram line and some RGTR bus lines. The City Shopping Bus, a free shuttle between the Glacis car park and Beaumont Street, will run more frequently in the city centre for this Sunday shopping. It also serves the Beaumont, Forum Royal, Cathédral, Gruef and Kasinosgaass stops, departing every 7-8 minutes between 13:30 and 18:30. Due to various events, the Glacis stop will be diverted along Boulevard de la Foire, near Avenue de la Faience.

Regarding parking, Schuman car park (400 spaces) is free on Saturdays and Sundays. The Foundation Pescatore bus stop near the car park and serviced at regular intervals by bus lines 1/125, 2, 8, 16, 18, 20 and 30, will allow visitors to easily reach the city centre and Gare district. The Stade car park, also free, is served by line 28, running on Sundays every 30 minutes between 12:38 and 18:07 to the city centre (Monterey stop) and the train station. Return journeys from the Gare Quai 4 run every 30 minutes between 13:01 and 18:31.

Similarly, the Howald, Lux-Sud car park, free for 24 hours, is served by line 21, running every 30 minutes on Sundays between 12:46 and 18:16 to the Gare district and the city centre (Monterey). Return journeys depart from Monterey Quai 1 every 30 minutes between 12:58 and 18:28. In addition, line 1/125 departs the Bouillon car park (2,400+ spaces), also free for 24 hours, every 10 minutes from 12:48 parking Bouillon to the Gare district and the city centre. Return journeys depart from 13:05 and until 18:35 from the stop Hamilius quai 2 (Boulevard Royal) towards the P + R Bouillon.
