The Luxembourg House shop on Rue de l'Eau in Luxembourg city centre is to be operated by Lëtzebuerg Design from 2016.
On Tuesday, Luxembourg's Ministry of Economy announced that, following a public tender, the running of Luxembourg House will be transferred from Luxair, who operated it since its opening in June this year, to Lëtzebuerg Design from January 2016; the original contract with Luxair comes to an end on 31 December 2015.
The ministry has stated that the offer by Lëtzebuerg Design, represented by Christiane Dubois (Director of Pall Center) and Valérie Wickler (designer), best met the requirements of the tender specifications, namely the originality of the proposed concept, the quality of the range of products offered, and the coherence of the operating programme.
Intended to be a showcase for promotion of national quality and original products, the shop targets both residents and foreign customers. The Luxembourg House will reopen its doors in January 2016 after redevelopment works for the new operator are completed.
