Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has announced that Luxembourg's food safety authorities have been informed via the Rapid Alert System for Food of the European Commission that the product "Oxfam Fair Trade Chocolate 47g Nuts, milk chocolate with Amazon nuts" contains peanuts contrary to what is declared on the packaging.
Peanuts can cause an allergic reaction in consumers who are allergic to peanuts. For other consumers the product is no problem.
The product has been distributed in Luxembourg by Terra Roxa in Schouweiler to associations for distribution among others in St Nicholas bags. Meanwhile, the product has been withdrawn from sale and recalled by the distributor but some have been sold or distributed.
The warning concerns the following product lots: L2237, L2265, L2318, L2328, L3028, L3072, L3135, L3220, L3276, L2318, L3318, L4006, L4079, L4098, L4220, L4266, L4337, L5027, L5062, L5113, L5265, L5070, L5265, L5027, L5062, L5070, L5113 (all with a consume-by date of 22 September 2016).
