On Friday 19 July 2024, the Vatican unveiled the programme for Pope Francis' upcoming trip to Belgium and Luxembourg.
Pope Francis will be in Luxembourg, at the invitation of Grand Duke Henri, on Thursday 26 September 2024.
As communicated by the Maison du Grand Duc, the programme for this visit includes the following:
10:00 Arrival of Pope Francis at Luxembourg Airport; welcome by the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess, accompanied by Luxembourg's Prime Minister
11:00 Meeting of the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess with Pope Francis at the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg-Ville; audience granted by Pope Francis to the Prime Minister
12:00 Meeting of Pope Francis with the national authorities and civil society at the Cercle Cité in Luxembourg-Ville
12:45-13:15 Tour of Luxembourg city centre by Pope Francis in the popemobile
16:30 Meeting with the Catholic community at Luxembourg's Notre-Dame Cathedral
18:15 Departure of Pope Francis from Luxembourg Airport
Following his Luxembourg visit, Pope Francis will travel onto Belgium.
