Luxembourg's Ministry of Education, Children and Youth has published an overview of the COVID-19 situation in Luxembourg schools for the week of 25 to 31 January 2021.

The figures for students and teachers who tested positive for COVID-19 relate to all public and private primary and secondary schools and skills centres located in Luxembourg.

During the week of 25 to 31 January, a total of 301 new cases were identified, including:

- 212 positive cases corresponding to scenario 1 in public and private primary and secondary schools and in skill centres (scenario 1: a pupil or teacher infected outside the school without the virus having spread at school);

- 42 positive cases corresponding to scenario 2 in public and private primary and secondary schools (scenario 2: maximum of two positive cases in a class with an uncertain source of infection or probably outside the class);

- 22 positive cases corresponding to scenario 3 in two primary schools and one secondary school (scenario 3: three to five positive cases in a class);

- 25 positive cases corresponding to scenario 4 (scenario 4: chain of infection within a school; several classes concerned or a class with more than five cases).

More specifically, scenario 4 was identified in Michel-Rodange Primary School in Waldbillig, Fousbann Primary School in Differdange, École Lydie Schmit in Schifflange and Pétange Primary School (Schoul Péiteng) in week 4 and in Albert Wingert Primary School in Schifflange in week 5.
