Luxembourg's Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth has published an overview of the COVID-19 situation in Luxembourg schools for the week of 7 to 13 December 2020.

The figures for students and teachers who test positive for COVID-19 relate to all public and private primary and secondary schools located in Luxembourg.

During the week of 7 to 13 December, a total of 890 new cases were identified, including:

- 700 positive cases corresponding to scenario 1 in public and private primary and secondary schools and in skill centres (scenario 1: a pupil or teacher infected outside the school without the virus having spread at school);

- 145 cases corresponding to scenario 2 in public and private primary and secondary schools and in a skills centre (scenario 2: maximum of two positive cases in a class with an uncertain source of infection or probably outside the class);

- 33 positive cases of scenario 3 in public and private primary and secondary schools and in skills centres (scenario 3: three to five positive cases in a class);

- Two scenario 4 situations, one in a primary school and the other in a skills centre, involving twelve positive cases (scenario 4: chain of infection within a school: several classes concerned or a class with more than five cases).
