On Monday 5 August 2024, the Ministry of State issued a statement that Prime Minister Luc Frieden met with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, and Minister of Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, Xavier Bettel, the Minister of National Education, Children and Youth, Claude Meisch, the Minister of Family, Solidarity, Living Together and Reception, Max Hahn, the Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth, and the Minister of Health and Social Security, Martine Deprez, to address the Caritas dossier.
The ministers discussed various issues and options relating to the continuation of the activities provided by Caritas on behalf of the State. In addition, the ministers set up a monitoring committee of senior officials to examine various legal and practical points.
A new meeting at ministerial level on this dossier will take place next week.
