
On Wednesday 16 July 2025, Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel, held a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mher Grigoryan, during the latter's visit to Luxembourg.
According to Luxembourg's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, this meeting provided an opportunity to review bilateral relations between Luxembourg and Armenia and to discuss current international and regional issues. Both Deputy Prime Ministers highlighted the "excellent" relations between the two countries.
Concerning the security situation in the South Caucasus, Minister Bettel reaffirmed Luxembourg's commitment to a peaceful and negotiated resolution of all disputes between Armenia and Azerbaijan, based on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both parties. He reiterated that Luxembourg recognises and supports Armenia's continued efforts in this regard.
The meeting also addressed relations between Armenia and the European Union, including steps taken by Armenia to move closer to the EU.
The ministry noted that Luxembourg actively participates in the European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA), where one Luxembourg police officer is currently deployed.
