The Portugese prime minister, António Costa, will be in Luxembourg this Wednesday, together with his Minister of Economy, Manuel Caldeira Cabral, Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, and José Luis Carneiro, Secretary of State for the Portuguese Communities.
Prime Minister Costa will be welcomed with military honours at the Place Clairefontaine by Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, followed by an audience audience with S.A.R. the Grand Duke at the grand-ducal palace.
The delegation will also meet with Minister of Economy, Étienne Schneider, Minister of National Education, Children and Youth, Claude Meisch, and the Minister of Family and Integration, Corinne Cahen, for talks that will include the signature of Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) on start-up development, tourism and space exploration.
A further research MoU will be signed by Marc Schiltz, Secretary General of the National Research Fund, and Professor Paulo Ferrão, President of the Foundation for Science and Technology, to strengthen science collaboration on science and research. Finally, Ministers Claude Meisch and Manuel Heitor will sign a circular in the field of education on Portuguese language and culture.
In addition, an interview with the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Mars Di Bartolomeo, is also on the programme. António Costa will meet members of the Conference of Presidents and members of the Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Cooperation and Immigration.
In the late afternoon, Prime Minister Costa, accompanied by the Minister of Justice, Félix Braz, will visit the creative hub 1535 ° in Differdange. The Deputy Mayor of the City of Differdange, Roberto Traversini, and the Centre's director, Tania Brugnoni, will make the presentation.
