The Minister for Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, Romain Schneider, welcomed Ben Fayot at the Directorate of Cooperation to personally thank him for his commitment as special ambassador throughout the European Year for Development.
2015 represented both the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Year for Development (EYD 2015).
As special ambassador for the EYD, Mr. Fayot played an intrinsic role through his personal involvement in the preparation of the 2015 programme and the establishment of the group coordinating the activities of the various actors. Ben Fayot was said to have contributed experience, personal commitment and vision for development to the project, participating in panels, speeches and interventions before a variety of audiences, as well as meeting guests from EU Member States and cooperation partners of Luxembourg.
Minister Schneider expressed his hope that Ben Fayot would constructively follow the activities of Luxembourg cooperation in the future.
