The Minister for Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, Romain Schneider, will pay a working visit to Rome from 17 to 18 February 2016.
During his trip, Minister Schneider will participate in the Governors Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). Romain Schneider will feature among the panelists of the roundtable of IFAD Governors which this year will focus on the theme of mobilising finance for smallholder agriculture. The Minister for Development Cooperation will also have a bilateral meeting with the President of IFAD, Kanayo F. Nwanze.
Furthermore, the Minister will hold working meetings with Ertharin Cousin, Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and Graziano da Silva, Director General of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). These meetings will aim to take stock of the partnership between Luxembourg and these agencies to contribute to achieving Objective N°2 of the Sustainabile Development Goals (SDGs), which seeks to eliminate hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.
