On Thursday 4 February 2016, Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, and Minister of Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, Romain Schneider, will be participating in the fourth international conference pledging humanitarian aid to Syria entitled 'Supporting Syria and the Region'.
The conference will be held in London, bringing together 80 heads of state or government in a bid to encouraging the international community towards responding to the humanitarian needs that have arisen from the Syrian crisis. Prime Minister Bettel and Minister Schneider will be in attendance at the invitation of the Emir of Kuwait, His Highness Jaber III Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah; German Chancellor Angela Merkel; First Minister of Norway, Erna Solberg; and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister will announce a multi-year contribution which exceeds that of previous years in support for the most vulnerable populations in Syria and neighbouring countries.
