The Discover Luxembourg concept of teams following a trail, walking around Luxembourg city and discovering more about its culture, history, gastronomy and technology, while participating in a number of fun challenges, is being extended.
G-Media, the company behind Discover Luxembourg and The Luxembourg Chronicle, is organising a second Discover Luxembourg event on Saturday 21 June, this time by electric car. This follows calls for such an event, with previous participants in Discover Luxembourg (by foot) canvassed for their opinions. As a result, the organisers are planning ahead to organise a large such event next spring and, to ensure that everything will go according to plan, are planning a Proof-of-Concept this Saturday 21 June.
Renault is putting at the disposal of the event a fleet of 20 electric vehicles (Zoé, Fluence, Kangoo & Twizy). These will be available to 20 teams of four people who will discover all about electric vehicle in Luxembourg and will travel along a course of approximately 100km during the course of the day.
The activity will commence at 10:00 from Cloche d'Or, with teams returning mid-afternoon (so to be finished in plenty of time before the FIFA World Cup football that afternoon).
The event is being sponsored by Renault Luxembourg, La Baloise and Total Luxembourg, with the support of AMCHAM and The Luxembourg Chronicle.
Registration: Simply send an email to geoff@chronicle.lu. On Friday he will send out confirmation emails to the 20 "team captains" to participate (if more than 20 applicants, a draw will be made) with instructions on payment of the €100 participation fee and sending scanned copies of driving licences ahead of the event.
Discover Luxembourg (by car) will take place on Saturday 21 June 2014, from 10:00.
The 7th annual Discover Luxembourg 2014 (by foot) will take place on Saturday 6 September this year, during the LCTO's Summer in the City programme, from 13:00.
Both events will be supporting the Schengen Peace Foundation and its main project, the World Peace Forum, the 2014 edition of which takes place in Luxembourg next week.
