The "Play Me, I'm Yours" audience participation culture exhibition in Luxembourg will be here until 21 June.

As well as attracting local residents to "tinkle the ivories" by playing the 16 pianos located at various points throughout the city and suburbs, the event is also attracting a number of visitors.

On Monday, The Luxembourg Chronicle caught up with Fabio Tedde and Borek Smekal, street musicians based in London, who have come over to perform on as many of the pianos in public spaces as they can, before they depart on Wednesday.

Fabio, Italian and a pianist and composer - he only performs his own music - explained "I love the idea of bringing people together, that's why I love this project". When asked about his costs, he said "I use the money I make on the street to travel around the world". He has a particular affinity with the "Play Me, I'm Yours" initiative - to date he has performed on 480 pianos when the exhibition was held in Belfast, London, Cambridge, Hungary, Geneva, Paris, Los Angeles, Boston, Tilburg, Munich and Blackburn.

Meanwhile, Borek, a saxophonist from the Czech Republic, plays in a street band in London and accompanys Fabio whenever possible. He has the same mentality and outlook and agrees music is for everyone. While Fabio may sometimes perform in hotels and beauty salons, Borek recently performed inside the Houses of Parliament when spotted performing a short distance away, on the street.

Following Sunday evening's performance at the Pescatore, the piano located in the small pagoda by the fountains in the Parc Edward Klein by the Avenue Marie Therese was their first stop on Monday, where they performed "Equality", which Fabio recorded in 2008 - he has 3 CDs to his name, as well as hundreds of YouTube videos.

Next week they are off to Geneva where another 44 pianos in public spaces are awaiting them.

The Play Me, I'm Yours culture exhibition has been touring the world since 2008 during which 1,300 pianos have been provided in public spaces across 45 cities.
