On Friday, a new aquatic centre, Aquasud, opened its doors in Differdange; Saturday and Sunday are open-days, from 10:00 - 19:00.
Luxembourg's Minister of Education, Claude Meisch, formerly Mayor of Differdange, officiated at the event, along with the current mayor, Roberto Traversini, the Aquasud Director, Véronique Alves, and representative sof the firm of architects for the project, M3 Architectes.
Offering seven swimming pools, some outdoor, including a 6-lane 25-metre indoor training pool, water slides, saunas, a whirlpool, a jaccuzi and a gym, with indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including volleyball courts, it also has a restaurant area. The 10,000 m2 project started in September 2011 and is a collaboration between the municipality and private investors.
Aquasud is located off the Avenue de la Liberté in Differdange. Entry is €5 for adults and €4 for children, €9 for fitness, or €39 monthly (all-inclusive).
