Luxembourg's Prime Minister and Minister of State, Xavier Bettel, will travel to Berlin on Friday 9 September 2016 for a meeting with German Chancellor, Angela Merkel.

He will participate in a working lunch with Angela Merkel along with the Prime Minister of Belgium, Charles Michel, and the Romanian President, Klaus Iohannis.

This meeting is part of many meetings the Prime Minister has spent preparing for the informal meeting of 27 EU Member States on the future of Europe, to be held on 16 September 2016 in Bratislava. So far, PM Bettel has already met with President of the French Republic, François Hollande, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Miro Cerar, and the European Council President, Donald Tusk. PM Bettel has also had telephone conversations on this issue with the Belgian Prime Minister, Charles Michel, the Austrian Chancellor, Christian Kern, and the Estonian Prime Minister, Taavi Rõivas.
