On Tuesday morning, Luxinnovation held a press conference at the Chambre de Commerce in Luxembourg-Kirchberg to announce details of the ManuFUTURE event being held on 23-24 November at the Luxembourg Conference Centre in Kirchberg.

840 people are registered to attend the event, of which 57% are coming from outside Luxembourg, with 90 speakers from 10 different countries. The aim of the event is to develop recommendations for how to re-industrialise Europe and ensure that European industry remains competitive on the global market in the future.

The EU has defined a strategic objective to boost reindustrialisation and increase manufacturing industry's current GDP contribution of circa 16% to as much as 20%.

The event is held every two years with the 2015 edition being held under the auspices of the Luxembourg Presidency of the European Union.

Four main topics will be addressed during the two-day conference:

- technology, research and innovation in manufacturing

- business and competitiveness

- policies, standards and sustainability

- finance snd investments

It will also include a number of industrial site visits for visiting delegates.-
