From 17 to 27 September 2015, the Luxembourg Automotive Components Cluster and the Saarland automotive cluster 'automotive.saarland' as co-hosting a booth at the 66th edition of the IAA 2015 trade fair.
Nineteen companies and institutions from Luxembourg and parts of the Greater Region, such as Saarland and Western Palatinate, are present at the booth to offer information to participants at the fair, which this year has been held under the slogan 'Mobility Connects'.
In conjunction with the opening of the fair, the Luxembourg Automotive Components Cluster held a 'Luxembourg Connected Car Networking Event' on 17 September 2015, attended by Cluster members, automotive suppliers from the Greater Region and other players from the autmotive sector.
During a lively roundtable discussion at the opening reception, international automotive experts Paul Schockmel (Clepa), Joël Duhr (Delphi), Philippe Osh (HITEC), Raphaël Frank (University of Luxembourg) and Mike Beckers (TERALINK Solutions), presented their views on ‘Connected Cars’, with participants offered the opportunity to discover the skills, expertise and activites of the Luxembourg automotive components industry and its members through the latest Cluster video.
Participants also used the reception to interact and share their ideas with other industry players during the walking dinner.
The 66th international trade fair for mobility IAA will run from 17 to 27 September 2015, in Frankfurt am Main. The D27, Hall 4 booth of the Luxembourg-Saarland venture assembled companies and institutions from the Greater Region such as Luxembourg Automotive Components Cluster; CEBI; IEE; the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) of the University of Luxembourg; and TERALINK Solutions.
"It is quite obvious that this year's IAA slogan 'Mobility Connects' highlights the innovative field of connected and automated driving," commented Cluster Manager, Joost Ortjens.
The Luxembourg Automotive Components Cluster reported that it will retain the 'Mobility Connects' topic as a priority of the coming months, with Ortjens stating that other areas of focus would include considerations such as connected car, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, and autonomous driving.
